January Job Transition Meeting
Event by: AMA Phoenix
January 28, 2009
10:15 AM – 11:15 AM Arizona Time

Main Location: Embassy Suites Phoenix – Biltmore
2630 E Camelback Road
Phoenix, AZ 85016

RSVP By: Jan 27, 2009 05:00 PM Arizona Time

This event is Sponsored by Jobing.com

Facilitated by Karen Kallet, and Evelyn Vega
This meeting will be held in the at the Embassy Suites Phoenix – Biltmore.

The meeting is held prior to the AMA luncheon. We start promptly so please be on time.

The AMA Job Transition group is a free meeting to members. You do not have to be a member of AMA to participate. There is a minimal cost of $10 for Non-Members. Space is limited so please sign up early. If you wish to attend the AMA luncheon, you must register and pay for that meeting.

This group is for qualified professionals in the field of marketing or individuals with experience and or degrees in the field: The AMA Job-Transition Group accepts participants who are in Advertising, Marketing, PR, Web, Direct Response, BI and other Communications related professionals. Those who are looking in Phoenix for a new position, laid off or left their current position or a professional in the field contemplating a future job transition or career direction and are looking for advice and support.

Come to the meeting prepared: Bring 25 copies of your resume and a list of any questions you may have for the group. Think about and be able to tell us: What is your dream job and what you are looking for in your next position? Since it is a round table, you will have approx.3 to 5 min. focused on your issues and questions. Much is learned by listening to others and then may apply to you.

What expectations should I have in attending the AMA Job transition meeting? The group is a networking opportunity session and a gut check and feedback as to how ready, prepared and focused you are for a job search. You will get feedback if your resume is a hit or a rewrite. You will get feedback if your goals and desires are realistic or need refining. You may pick up some leads or contacts from other participants. It is not a meeting where employers attend, or have jobs waiting for you. As in any job search, the search is up to you and the effort you put in will get the results.
